Ragdale

Ragdale is a nonprofit artist residency program and community located on the former Arts & Crafts country estate of architect Howard Van Doren Shaw and poet and playwright Frances Wells Shaw in Lake Forest, Illinois. The organization provides dedicated time and space for artists across multiple disciplines to focus on their creative work. Ragdale fosters a supportive community environment where residents can develop their practice surrounded by the historic grounds and studios of the estate.
