Residência São João

Residência São João is an artist residency based in São José do Vale do Rio Preto, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It hosts residents at Fazenda São João, a farm set in the Atlantic Forest, and at Casa Figueira, a renovated former stable now used as a permanent residency space. Its programme includes the Verãozão summer residency and the Somsocosmos sonic residencies, which bring together musicians and sound artists. Selected artists and invited guests work and live together, and the results are shared through an online editorial platform of texts, recordings and videos. The projects are curated by a group of artists who also sit on the selection jury.
