Royal society promoting and exhibiting excellence in oil painting since 1882.
The Royal Institute of Oil Painters (ROI) was founded in 1882 to promote and exhibit work of the highest standard in oil paint. The Institute provides a centre of excellence and encouragement to all who love the medium of oil painting. It is a member of the Federation of British Artists, based at the Mall Galleries in central London. The ROI holds an Annual Open Exhibition each November/December, giving non-members the opportunity to exhibit alongside established ROI members, and also runs an educational outreach programme in partnership with schools.
