Salonfestival promotes salon culture in Germany: small, private gatherings where the issues of the day are discussed and debated among a few people. It lists current salon dates across the country and invites hosts to open their homes to new salons.
Beyond the salons themselves, it offers writing workshops and writing seminars on themes such as grief, confidence and the future, which focus on honest personal expression rather than literary quality. It also organizes salon journeys that combine conversation and reflection with art and local encounters.
A nationwide team and a circle of supporters, the Salonfreunde, who contribute financially, sustain the work and help develop this form of culture.
