A community arts council supporting artists and the arts on Salt Spring Island since 1968.
Salt Spring Arts Council (SSAC) is a community arts council based in historic Mahon Hall on Salt Spring Island. Founded in 1968, it promotes the role of the arts in building a healthy and vibrant community. It supports creative growth through education, programming, advocacy and by linking Salt Spring arts and artists beyond the island. SSAC represents more than 200 member artists and offers year-round programming, including youth programs such as Artist in the Class and drop-in Crafting Connections events. It also runs a Grants & Awards program that funds community projects and scholarships. SSAC is a registered charitable society supported by members, volunteers and donors.
