Sandy Spring Museum is a community-responsive museum in Sandy Spring, Maryland, dedicated to preserving and sharing the history and stories of its community. Founded in 1981, it grew out of neighbors' efforts to collect and safeguard everyday local histories that traditional records overlook. The Museum runs restorative cataloging projects such as its Equity in Metadata initiative, documents Black residents' histories, and stewards the Willow Grove Cultural Commons. It also hosts community events like Founders' Day, an annual Fine Arts & Crafts Holiday Gift Show, and a public art trail featuring functional works by regional artists.
