Sanskar Bharati works to foster a deep appreciation for Bharatiya cultural heritage and to encourage the development of its art forms. Since 1981 it has aimed to restore an Indian artistic outlook across the performing arts, visual arts and literature. It operates more than 1,200 branches in over 500 districts across the country. Its activities include workshops, exhibitions, art discussions, festivals, competitions and the Kalasadhak Sangam gathering of artists. It also runs training programs and seminars that teach young people about India's cultural traditions. The organization holds that art is a means of social awareness and change, and works to preserve traditional arts while keeping newer art forms free of cultural pollution.
