One of California's oldest arts organizations, offering exhibitions, classes and theatre in Santa Cruz since 1919.
The Santa Cruz Art League is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization founded in 1919 to make art accessible to everyone. It presents free exhibitions, including the Statewide Landscape Exhibition it has held annually since 1928, and offers classes and monthly critique groups for artists at every level. The League also runs the Broadway Playhouse, a 64-seat blackbox theater, and a gift shop in its historic building in midtown Santa Cruz. It is funded mainly by memberships, individual donations and class tuition.
