Nonprofit sculpture walk installing public art throughout downtown Springfield.
Sculpture Walk Springfield is a nonprofit initiative that transforms downtown Springfield into a museum without walls by installing quality outdoor sculptures on an annually rotating basis. Founded by Karen Schneider and Peg Carolla after visits to public art programs in Sioux Falls and Mexico City, the organization aims to encourage the artistic transformation of Springfield while enhancing quality of life and promoting economic vitality. Since installing its first 13 sculptures in downtown Springfield in April 2016, the program has grown to feature dozens of temporary and permanent sculptures across downtown, Jordan Valley Park, and the Rountree Community. Sculpture Walk Springfield became its own independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2019.
