A City of Phoenix arts center in Arcadia offering classes, exhibitions and events for Arizona artists.
The Shemer Art Center is a cultural center in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix, Arizona, housed in a historic Sante Fe mission-style home donated to the City of Phoenix by Martha Shemer in 1984. Its mission is to support and showcase Arizona artists, offering year-round instruction from professional teaching artists in drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, fused glass, mixed media, photography and jewelry-making. The center also hosts lectures, workshops, exhibitions and events, and features an outdoor sculpture garden and boutique gift shop with work by Arizona artists for sale. Designated a City of Phoenix Point of Pride in 1992, it is supported by the City of Phoenix Arts & Culture Department and the Arizona Commission on the Arts.
