A seaside artist residency in Skogby, Finland for artists, researchers and creative professionals.
Skogshyddan AIR is an artist-in-residence program run out of the founder's own home in the village of Skogby, on the sea between the towns of Tammisaari (Ekenäs) and Hanko in Finland. It offers a quiet, rural setting for artists, researchers and other creative professionals to work individually or in groups, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary and community-oriented practice. The residency spaces occupy a traditionally renovated, 100-year-old log house. Beyond studio residencies, Skogshyddan also hosts courses, events and other experiences throughout the year. The project was inspired by the Onoma / Fiskars AIR residency run by the Fiskars cooperative of craftspeople, designers and artists.
