Strathmore is a nonprofit arts center that aims to build a creative community where the arts belong to everyone and artists can explore their full potential. Its campus includes the Music Center concert hall and the intimate Mansion, which host performances by nationally and internationally known artists, chamber series and an Artists in Residence program. It presents more than two dozen free exhibitions each year featuring local, national and international artists. It also runs youth orchestras and a youth chorus, a jazz orchestra, fellowships and songwriting awards for artists. The Bloom Access Initiative and community programs such as Uke. Fest and the Windows Series expand access to the arts across Montgomery County. Its venues are also available for weddings and private events, and the Mansion has a gift shop and offers afternoon tea.
