A writing retreat and artist residency in El Paredón, Guatemala.
Studio Luce is a writing retreat and artist residency program based in Villa Rosa, a four-bedroom villa in the fishing village of El Paredón on Guatemala's Pacific coast. It hosts writers, academics, and artists of all disciplines, including visual artists, filmmakers, and musicians, offering dedicated studio and writing spaces during scheduled open-call residency periods throughout the year. Founded by author Ben Davies Crisp, Dr. Katie Gaddini, and artist Carlin Francis, Studio Luce is a registered Artist-in-Residence member of Res Artis. Its mission is to bridge international creative talent with Guatemala's cultural landscape while supporting the local community, including funding a village library through its residency stays.
