Swampspace

Founded in 2005 by artist and sculptor Oliver Sanchez, Swampspace serves as a creative hub for local artists, featuring avant-garde exhibitions, performance art, and installations, often blurring the lines between a studio, club, and exhibition space. It was designed as an alternative to traditional, commercial art galleries, focusing on showcasing emerging talent and providing a community-minded venue. "The Un-Gallery": The space is known for its unvarnished aesthetic, acting as a "clubhouse" for local artists rather than a formal, polished gallery. The space has featured works from various artists, including collaborations with musicians, dancers, and visual artists. It is frequently referred to as a "project space" that provides a platform for challenging, non-commercial work.
