Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art (Tephra ICA)

About

Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art (Tephra ICA) is a Reston, Virginia nonprofit that has been a gathering space for contemporary art, artists and the community for over 50 years. It exhibits emerging and established local, national and international artists in its galleries and in programs across Northern Virginia. Each year it also produces the Tephra ICA Arts Festival, which brings more than 200 contemporary artists to Reston Town Center. Founded in 1974 as the Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE), the organization took its current name as its programs, audience and impact evolved. It offers internships for undergraduate and graduate students and reviews exhibition proposals from curators and artists on a rolling basis.
