An Icelandic center for textile research, education, and artist residencies in Blönduós.
Textílmiðstöð Íslands (the Icelandic Textile Center) is based in a historic former Women's College in Blönduós, in northwest Iceland. It combines textile-focused research and development with a digital fabrication space, TextílLab, equipped with a Tc2 sample loom, felt loom, tufting guns, and digital knitting and sewing machines. The Center also provides facilities for university study and adult education, maintains Iceland's first weaving database, and runs the Ós Textile Artist Residency, hosting emerging, mid-career, and senior textile artists and scholars from around the world year-round.
