Historic WWII-era naval destroyer museum docked in downtown Jacksonville, FL.
The USS Orleck Naval Museum is a maritime museum housed aboard the USS Orleck (DD-886), a Gearing-class destroyer docked along the St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. The ship served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1982, earning distinction in World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam. The museum features onboard exhibits including interactive displays, immersive experiences like the Russian Submarine Encounter and Mount 52 Experience, and artifacts celebrating naval history. Named after Lieutenant Joseph Orleck, a Navy Cross recipient killed in action in 1943, the museum preserves the legacy of naval service and offers educational programming for all ages.
