The Velocity Fund gives twelve Philadelphia-based artists and collectives $5,000 each to develop and present new projects. It favors work that is experimental in genre, collaborative in practice, grounded in its communities, and thoughtful in its impact. Independent artists, collaborative groups and non-incorporated collectives are all welcome to apply.
The fund supports artists and arts-based cultural organizers who work outside the studio and present outside traditional art spaces. It is a Regional Regranting Program of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and is administered by Asian Arts Initiative. Funded work spans printmaking, performance, video, puppetry, sculpture and curation.
