The Virginia Quilt Museum, founded in 1995, is the Official Quilt Museum of the Commonwealth of Virginia. It works to cultivate and preserve the quilting arts in Virginia through a rotating, curated gallery space. Its exhibitions show heirloom, contemporary and art quilts side by side, representing a variety of styles, techniques and themes. The museum also offers educational programs, group tours and internship opportunities for emerging professionals. It is based at the historic Silver Lake Mill in Dayton, Virginia, and also takes exhibitions on the road to quilt festivals.
