Weehawken Creative Arts is a nonprofit arts organization founded in 2004 and rooted in Southwest Colorado. Its mission is to strengthen communities by creating high-quality opportunities for people of all ages to learn, create, connect, and belong through the arts. It offers hundreds of classes, workshops, performances, and cultural events each year in dance, visual art, theater, aerial arts, and more across Ridgway, Ouray, Montrose, and neighboring communities.
It co-manages the 610 Arts Collective gallery in downtown Ridgway, which showcases more than 100 regional artists annually, and it rents private studio space. It also produces major community events, including the Ridgway Rendezvous Arts & Crafts Festival and the Fête de la Musique street festival. Scholarships, work-trade opportunities, and community partnerships help keep its programs accessible.
