Why Not Theatre

Why Not Theatre is a Toronto-based theatre company that develops and produces new contemporary performance work. Its recent work has included an intimate storytelling piece spanning Chinese-Canadian generations, a poetic environmental theatre collaboration with David Suzuki and Tara Cullis, and a series of short plays commissioned from award-winning playwrights on the climate crisis. The company also runs fellowship and travel award programs to support theatre artists. Why Not Theatre creates and presents its work on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples in Toronto.
