“Magic and fantasy — Surrealism, Magic Realism and Imaginative Realism”
October online group exhibition inviting artists to submit artworks that step beyond the familiar into spaces where wonder, symbolism and impossibility coexist with the everyday — Surrealism, Magic Realism and Imaginative Realism. Artworks from all mediums of visual art are welcome, except AI-created art and video/film. Juried by Heini Mika and Vincent Chang; work screens on a Times Square jumbotron billboard.
Best of Show $150, Second Place $100, Third Place an online solo show; certificate of participation and Times Square jumbotron screening for all participants
Certificate
All artists are awarded an HMVC Gallery New York certificate of participation; the Third Place winner also receives a solo certificate recognizing their achievement.
Compensation details
Best of show winner: $150. Second place winner: $100. Third place winner: an online Solo Show at HMVC Gallery New York running for a month, plus a solo certificate. All artworks: Times Square jumbotron billboard (when possible). Winners of Best of Show and Second Place need a working PayPal account to receive prize money; failing to provide one forfeits the prize and HMVC may select another winner.

Requirements
High-quality images of artwork as befitting the theme, an Artist Bio and an Artist Statement. Artists may submit up to 20 artworks for the jurors' consideration (Images min 1, max 20; no audio or video). Accepted image formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG and WEBP; dimensions min 1200 pixels or max 2560 pixels on the longest side; image size under 2 MB.
Application Requirements section states: File Type JPEG or JPG only, File Dimensions 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, File Size under 5 MB, Color Profile sRGB. Submission fee is $40 for the first entry and $10 for additional entries, non-refundable and no guarantee of acceptance.
Location eligibility type: International — HMVC Gallery New York welcomes all artists and their submissions. Eligible applicant types: Artist. Submission limit: 1. Artworks from all mediums of visual art are welcome, except AI-created art and video/film.

All properly prepared entries are viewed and judged by the jurors, Heini Mika and Vincent Chang, whose decision is final. One artwork from each selected artist is included in the group show. Notification of acceptance is sent by email by September 30th. HMVC reserves the right to refuse to feature artwork if the application is lacking or the work is misrepresented.
