Other than the August Family Fellowship, partners or children cannot be accommodated during a MASS MoCA residency due to housing/space limitations. Individual fellowships carry their own eligibility criteria established by donors — e.g. the Fellowship for Black or Indigenous Artists and Writers is for artists and writers who specifically identify as Black or Indigenous; the Family Fellowship is for parent-artists with one or more children entering grades 2–9; the Speranza Foundation Fellowship is open to past and current Lincoln City Fellows ages 18 and over; the YoungArts Fellowship is open to previous YoungArts award winners ages 18 and over; university fellowships are limited to students/graduates of specified programs (Art+Everywhere, Brooklyn College, Corcoran School of Art and Design, Maine College of Art and Design, MassArt, MICA, RISD, SAIC, Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University, University of Oregon, UT Austin, Virginia Commonwealth University) with specified graduation years. All applicants must first be accepted through the regular jurying process to receive a fellowship.
