“An interrogation of a former friendship between two college friends, exploring their relationship, careers, art and diverging life paths.”
Are you a male-presenting actor, stage age 25-30, interested in being part of the IF Theatre spotlight season? The Sellouts is holding auditions for the character Danny in the IF Theatre Blackbox Oct. 27-28, 7-10 p.m.
"The Sellouts" is a new play by Emily Worrel for two actors. The character Elizabeth has been pre-cast; this audition is for the role of Daniel.
Show Synopsis: Daniel, a married animator-turned-graphic-designer, and Elizabeth, a single videographer with dreams of becoming a documentary filmmaker, were best friends in college. Some people even thought they'd be more one day. But now, they haven't seen each other or even spoken in six months. When Daniel suddenly shows up at Elizabeth's door, what starts as a casual hangout between friends becomes an interrogation of their relationship, their careers, their art, their life paths and how each of them have changed over the past several years.
Daniel: Age 26. Man. Graphic Designer. Originally from the Region (area surrounding Chicago). Lives in Evanston. Attended Columbia College Chicago at the same time as Elizabeth with a major in computer animation and another major in traditional animation. Wanted to be a film animator, but gave that up in favor of a more stable career path after getting married. Sarcastic sense of humor that matches Elizabeth's. Married to Chelsea.
