“Drawing as a way to investigate and understand place; time, perspective, personal and environmental well-being”
7-night creative retreat in Collemacchia village, Molise, Italy (Fri 09 Oct – Fri 16 Oct 2026). DRAWING with PLACE invites participants to slow down by experiencing and investigating place through drawing. All forms of drawing are encouraged, activated through experimentation, play, trial and error. Working in the ancient and contemporary environment of Molise stimulates deep consideration of time, perspective, and personal and environmental well-being. The retreat offers a carefully balanced itinerary of structured workshops exploring historical and contemporary ways of drawing — discussion, presentation, making and sharing — alongside uninterrupted personal time. Participants are introduced to stunning natural landscape accessible via ancient pathways and to world-class Samnite and Roman archaeological sites. Led by Tracy Mackenna, curator of The Museum of Loss and Renewal. Six places available. Participation fee: €1,500.
