“Assemblage and installation exploring reflection, transformation, interconnectedness, and renewal; the relationship between self and world”
The World, Reassembled: Reflections of Self is an Inside-Out assemblage and installation exhibition presented as part of the Art Takeover the Mall event at Foothills Mall. Running July 10 – September 27, this exhibit transforms storefront windows into contemplative spaces that invite the public to pause, reflect, and engage with art in an unexpected environment.
This exhibition explores the idea that both the world and our understanding of self are continually being shaped and reshaped. Through assemblage and installation, artists are encouraged to reassemble materials, ideas, and perspectives into new forms that reflect personal awareness, growth, and our shared human experience. By working with found objects, repurposed materials, and constructed elements, artists can create meaningful connections between the individual and the larger world.
Assemblage art may include the combination of diverse materials—such as everyday objects, recycled components, natural elements, or mixed media—brought together to create unified works. Installation art should consider the surrounding space, creating an immersive or environmental experience designed specifically for viewing within storefront windows. All works must be designed for public viewing and installed behind glass in a family-friendly mall setting.
Artists are encouraged to explore themes of reflection, transformation, interconnectedness, and renewal. Subtle references to nature, sustainability, and the relationship between humanity and the environment are welcome. The goal is to present thoughtful work that fosters awareness, encourages dialogue, and promotes a sense of calm and curiosity for viewers of all ages.
By transforming everyday commercial spaces into moments of reflection, The World, Reassembled: Reflections of Self invites artists to help create an environment where art nurtures awareness and inspires visitors to consider how we each contribute to shaping the world around us.
