Art on the Fox Algonquin 2027

Amdur Productions presents the 7th Annual Art on the Fox Algonquin, a juried art festival in Algonquin, a progressive community located 40 miles northwest of Chicago along the Fox River with a population of 30,000.

• Artist Sales: Artists keep all their sales income from the show.
• Staff Support: Amdur Productions staff is present on site throughout the entire festival to assist artists from load in to load out.
• Booth Sitting: Amdur Productions staff is available to booth sit for artists throughout the entire festival.
• Load-in: Saturday morning load-in. Artists will be able to drive up to or very close to their booth space and unload their vehicle.
• Artist Parking: Amdur Productions reserves close day and overnight parking for artists at no additional cost
• Equipment Rental: Tents, tent weights, tables and chairs available for rent. Fees apply.
• Pro Panel Rental: We have limited "pro-panel" walls available for artists. Rental is on a first come/first served basis, quantity is limited. Fees apply.
• Set Up/Take Down Help: Booth set up and take down assistance is available on a scheduled pre-reserved time. Fees apply.
• Hotel Rooms: Amdur Productions works to provide discounts at local hotels for each festival.
• Marketing: A large multi-layered marketing plan supports this show with print and digital advertisements, on radio, posters, social media, and through direct mail postcards. A professional public relations team ensures high visibility for this festival.
• Security: Over night security is provided.

Eligibility

All artwork must be created by the accepted artist(s) and be for sale. Artists may apply in multiple categories but not twice in the same category. Jewelry must feature original casts made by the artist. Photography and digital art must be original work made by the photographer, with printing done by the photographer or under their supervision. Limited editions (hand-manipulated and numbered up to 500) are allowed, as are reproductions by mechanical techniques up to 500 copies. AI-created art is permitted if clearly identified and juried on body of work, artistic theme, technical competence, and originality. Collaborations of up to two artists are allowed if clearly noted. Buy/sell items and work made solely by apprentices or employees are prohibited.

Important Dates and Deadlines

• February 18, 2027: Notifications of festival status online
• February 19, 2027 and Thereafter: Late applications accepted
• March 18, 2027: Registration forms and show fees due (in full or half)

A wait list is selected from the jury's scores in each category, and wait listed artists are invited into the show as cancellations occur in that particular category. Wait list artists can resubmit art images and/or a booth image for reconsideration on their overall jury score. On average, about 100 applications are submitted each year, with about 54 artists selected through the jury and about 10 exempt-from-jury artists invited.

Returning artists may be selected based on having received an award. Jurors view images on a computer monitor, score applications on a scale of 1 to 7, and a single jury panel scores applications for all medium categories, separately from various locations. The jury process is closed to observation.
