Photon Residency Ptuj is an international residency programme for emerging artists working in contemporary photography and related visual practices. The program is closely linked to Different Worlds, the annual open call of the Photon Gallery for young photographers from Central and Eastern Europe and Austria. Selected participants are offered the opportunity to further develop their artistic practice through a residency in Ptuj.
The residency provides accommodation and studio space, mentoring and curatorial support, portfolio discussions and opportunities for exchange with artists and cultural professionals. Activities also include visits to Photon Gallery in Ljubljana and connections with Photon’s wider regional network. The programme aims to support artistic research and project development, while strengthening professional skills, international mobility and long-term connections within the CEE photography scene.

The residency is intended for photographers and visual artists who use photography as a central medium in their artistic practice, including interdisciplinary and research-based approaches.
