Open Call for Fine Art Photo Portfolio Projects
Dek Unu Magazine
Never a fee to submit.
No Fee. Unique solo-format print and online journal of fine art photography calls for accomplished artists for its upcoming edition. Analog, digital, traditional, experimental, street, documentary, topo, journo, color, b&w, straight, strange, mild, wild—all photo genres and techniques are welcome. Dek Unu Magazine is an international, not-for-profit, non-advertising magazine that provides respectable, respectful publication and promotion to only one artist per month with an 11 image portfolio, artist's image commentaries, and an extended interview, providing an unusually large space for the artist's solo showcase. Open theme, easy email submissions, short production cycle.
Dek Unu Magazine publishes and promotes fine art photography exclusively. We publish only one artist per monthly issue online and in paperback print formats. Each issue contains 11 images, an artist's commentary for each image, and an in-depth interview. Additional images from the artist are included in the interview section to add to readers' understanding of the artist and the work.
Please read and follow the guidelines carefully – the details matter.

Simultaneous submissions are permitted. All fine art projects in all photo genres and techniques are welcome. Along with technical excellence, we look for coherent, intentional art (straight to strange) in selecting projects.
Issues and interviews are in English; written facility is required.
(Submit all text in .doc, .docx, .odt, or .rtf only. No .pdf, no .pages, please.)
CV/Bio:
Relevant academic and life lessons; introduce yourself to friendly strangers. Most of our readers are artists and their appreciators, with broad interest in the arts.
Project Commentary:
Almost nobody likes to write or read a traditional "artist's statement," so please use the bio and commentary docs to tell your story in detail. Tell what you believe is important to this project, your practice, and your life in and out of the arts. Unlike others, Dek Unu imposes no word count limit on your story. Please write in personal, accessible terms and avoid excessive jargon. Our jurors evaluate both the docs and the images to decide on each feature.
E-Mail:
Send everything: 11 separate images, bio, and project description, all attached to a single email.
No zips, dropbox, shared folders, or other transfer methods, please.
