“Labour history and culture, environmental justice, decolonization, community engagement”
Workers Arts & Heritage Centre (WAHC) seeks proposals from artists, art collectives, and curators for exhibitions and curatorial projects forming their 2027–2029 programming at Hamilton's Custom House. Proposals should activate the CUPE/SCFP Gallery with artistic interventions exploring themes including resource extraction and environmental justice, decolonized and Indigenous perspectives of labour, intersections of labour with race/class/gender/ability, invisibilized and unpaid labour, globalized labour, labour futurisms, and community-centred projects in conversation with working people's histories. All media welcomed including installation, interdisciplinary, and community-engaged arts. WAHC pays artists and curators in accordance with CARFAC fees for a Category 1 institution.
