Painter. Poet. Lover of cats, books, fashion & kindness.
My work is deeply personal, unapologetically honest, and sometimes deliberately uncomfortable. Through abstraction, symbolism, humour, and provocation, I explore trauma, vulnerability, sexuality, mortality, women's experiences, power, fear, and connection. I'm drawn to the tension between beauty and discomfort, often using unexpected imagery and dark humour to challenge what we consider acceptable to look at or discuss. My paintings are fragments of lived experience translated through colour, gesture, words, and symbolism. I don't create to provide comfortable answers. I create to provoke a reaction-to make viewers pause, question, laugh, feel uneasy, or recognize something of themselves. For me, discomfort is not the destination. It's where the conversation begins.

Lisa Palmer is a contemporary artist whose vibrant abstract practice explores the emotional landscape of the human experience. Working intuitively with colour, gesture, layered mark-making, and unexpected imagery, I translate feelings, memories, and moments of vulnerability into visually charged compositions. My work moves between tenderness and unease, often examining connection, desire, identity, resilience, and the contradictions that shape us.
