My paintings begin with instinct rather than a plan. Drawing from literature, pop culture, the natural world, and the absurdities and complexities of everyday life, I use color, movement, and shifting forms to explore what often can't be put into words. I embrace the push and pull between chaos and control, allowing each painting to find its own direction, often surprising me along the way.
I’m a self-taught abstract painter based in New Hampshire, working with acrylic and pastel on canvas, linen and wood. As a mostly intuitive painter, I approach each blank canvas as a journey without a set destination. Sometimes the process is fast and instinctive; other times it unfolds slowly, in layers that shift, collide, or completely change direction. I follow the energy of the moment and let color, gesture, and emotion guide me. Whether the process is swift or meandering, my goal remains the same: to pull the viewer close--inviting them to experience life within the painting and embark on their own contemplative journey. I hope my work elicits emotion, sparks conversation, and inspires reflection. My inspiration comes from everyday life--books, music, pop culture, nature, animals, people, and whatever I’m feeling at the time. I’ve always been drawn to bold, expressive work, from Jackson Pollock, Joan Mitchell and Helen Frankenthaler to my French grandmother, whose vibrant oil paintings surrounded me growing up. Ultimately, I hope my paintings offer a moment of connection through color, emotion, and the freedom of expression.
