The Cape Cod Museum of Art, known as CCMoA, was founded by artists in 1981 and presents itself as the home of Cape Cod art. It cares for a permanent collection and mounts changing exhibitions, including juried and community shows. The museum also runs an education program with adult and youth classes, a ceramics center, pottery classes, art and Alzheimer's programs and scholarships. Artist talks, workshops and events fill its calendar, and a museum shop features local artisans. As a nonprofit, it relies on donations, volunteers, sponsors and corporate members to keep art accessible to the Cape's communities.
