Italian government institute promoting Italian language and culture in Ethiopia through courses and events.
The Italian Institute of Culture in Addis Ababa is an official body of the Italian government. It promotes Italian language and culture in Ethiopia through cultural events that spread ideas in the arts and sciences. Its services include Italian language and culture courses, mainly taught by mother-tongue teachers, with up to three annual sessions for the CILS diploma in Italian as a foreign language. It also runs a library of videos, DVDs, Italian newspapers and magazines, and an information service on Italian cultural life. The Institute collaborates with local art and museum institutes and with European cultural organisations such as the British Council, the Goethe-Institut and the Alliance Française.
