One Artsume account, one page, the same tools for everyone. What you do describes you, matches you to programs, and orders your CV.
You get one account, one page, and one handle. A painter and a curator get the same page with the same parts. What you put on it decides what a visitor sees. What you do describes you.
What everyone gets
Every part of Artsume belongs to you as a person:
- Your name, handle, photo, one-line intro, and city
- Your contact links
- The Portfolio tab. A work can be an artwork, an exhibition, a project, a publication, or anything else you made or worked on.
- The About tab, with your short bio
- The CV tab, including the import that reads a PDF or Word file
- Messages, your network, your applications, and your Saved
- Insights, which shows who finds your page
- Artsume Pro, which you buy once as a person
A confirmed CV line earns anyone the verified seal.
Your content decides your page
Your page opens on Portfolio when you show a work. Otherwise it opens on About.
When you invite an organization, the invitation shows a snapshot of your work if you show a work. The words of the invitation are the same for everyone.
Telling Artsume what you do
One control holds it. It is headed What you do, and it says: Pick everything that fits. They show as badges on your page.

On your public page: Artist · Curator
It lists eleven practices: Artist, Curator, Writer or critic, Researcher or historian, Educator, Gallerist or dealer, Collector, Arts administrator, Consultant or advisor, Student, and Other. Pick as many as fit. Pick at least one. Other opens a short box so Artsume knows what you meant.
You find this control in two places, and they behave the same:
- Settings → What you do, which has its own Save
- The Edit profile dialog on your profile, where it saves with the rest of the dialog
What your practices do
Your practices do three things:
- They describe you. They print as badges on your page and in the short line under your name.
- They match you to programs. When a program is open to curators, you can apply to it if you pick Curator.
- They order your CV sections. A curator's CV leads with curatorial projects, and a writer's leads with publications.
They do not change the parts of your page. Changing your practices removes nothing: your works, your CV lines, and your page all stay.
The line under your name
Your disciplines and your practices print as one short line under your name, on your profile and on every card that carries you around Artsume. The line takes up to two items. A long line shortens rather than running past the edge of a card. Other never prints.
The control shows a live preview, headed On your public page, as you choose.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need two accounts if I both make work and curate?
No. One account holds everything. Pick Artist and Curator in What you do. Your page has one portfolio, one About, and one CV.
I'm not an artist. Can I still use Artsume?
Yes. Every part of the page is yours: a portfolio for the shows, projects and texts you worked on, an About, a CV, a network, messages, and Insights.
What happens to my work if I remove a practice?
Nothing. Your practices describe you. They do not hold your content, so removing one removes no work and no CV line.
Why doesn't my practice show under my name?
The line takes two items at most, so a third one will not fit. Other never prints. Your full list always shows as badges on your page.
