Settings
Every section of your Artsume settings: account and handle, roles, notifications, privacy, plan and billing, appearance, matching, and organization requests.
Settings opens as a panel over whatever you were doing. Select the gear at the bottom of the left rail; it carries no label, and its tooltip reads Settings. The panel closes with Done.
Three sections save the moment you make a change: Notifications, Privacy & visibility, and Appearance. Those are the ones that say Changes save automatically at the foot of the panel. Everywhere else you press a Save button, so leave the section only after you have. Sign out sits at the bottom of the list.
The sections
| Section | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Account | Your photo, your handle, your contact details, sign-in and security, connected accounts, and account deletion |
| Roles | The What you do control: your two sides, your disciplines, and your roles |
| Notifications | Which emails and push alerts Artsume sends you |
| Privacy & visibility | Browsing privately, sharing activity, and blocked accounts |
| Plan & billing | Artsume Pro, your payment method, and your invoices |
| Appearance | Theme and reduced motion, for this device |
| Matching | How Pro picks programs for you |
| Organization requests | Claims and join requests you've sent |
Four of them depend on what you do. Matching appears once you have an artist side, because it tunes program recommendations. Roles, Privacy & visibility, and Plan & billing appear once you have a personal profile, published or not.
Account
Your photo sits at the top, with Change photo and Remove beside it.
Below that, Profile URL shows your public address and lets you change your handle. You can change it once every 30 days. Old links stop working after a change, so a printed QR code or a business card carrying your old handle stops resolving. You can also change your handle from the Edit profile dialog on your profile, which is the same control in a different place. See Creating your profile.
Sign-in & security shows your email with a Verified or Unverified badge and lets you change your password. Connected accounts covers Google sign-in. Deleting your account is the last thing on the page.
Roles
The section is headed What you do, and it is the one control that decides whether your page carries a portfolio, a Roles row, or both. It holds two switches, and each opens its own list below it: Artist opens Disciplines, and Arts professional opens Roles. A live preview under them shows the line your public page will print. This section has its own Save. Artists and arts professionals explains what each pick changes.
Notifications
Email and push are two separate lists. A category on one is not paired with a category on the other.
Email has four switches:
- Application updates: submission confirmations, decisions, and updates on your applications
- Deadline reminders: reminders as your deadlines approach, and nudges to finish your profile
- Weekly digest: a weekly summary of new programs and activity
- Pending requests: requests waiting on you, one email a day at most
All four start on. Artsume sends no marketing email, so there is no switch for one.
Push has three switches, and they need your browser's permission the first time you turn one on:
- Messages: new direct messages and replies
- Network requests: tracks, connect requests from organizations, and introductions
- Program matches: new programs matched to your profile
Turning these off does not silence Artsume inside the app. The bell in the rail keeps its unread count either way.

120 unread
Nothing unread
At the bottom of the section, you can subscribe to a calendar feed so your deadlines land in your own calendar.
Privacy & visibility
Three controls:
- Browse privately keeps you out of the audience list when you view someone else's profile. It cuts both ways: while it's on, you can't see who views yours either. See Insights.
- Share activity across organizations lets organizations you're in touch with share your activity and contact details with one another.
- Blocked accounts opens with Manage. People you've blocked can't track you or message you.
There is no public-or-private switch for your profile. Once your page is published it is public, and tracking is instant. See Your network.
Plan & billing
Everything about Artsume Pro lives here. Pro belongs to you as a person, so one subscription covers everything you do, whether or not you make work.
On the free plan you see a Current plan panel and the Pro pricing, with a Get Pro button. Nothing is charged until you upgrade.
On Pro you see your renewal or cancellation date, the card on file, and Invoice history with a View link on each invoice. Manage billing opens Stripe, and that is where you change your card or cancel. There is no cancel button inside Artsume.
If an organization you belong to pays for a plan, that's billed separately in the organization's own settings. See Organization plans.
Appearance
Theme offers Light, Dark, and System, and System follows your device. Reduce motion minimizes animations and transitions. Both apply to the device you're on, not to your account, so your phone and your laptop can differ.
Matching
This tunes the programs Pro recommends: How far will you travel?, whether you'll pay Entry fees, and What kinds of programs interest you?, with a switch per program type. Press Save preferences when you are done.
Organization requests
If you've asked to claim an organization or join one, this is where those requests stand. A row that is still pending offers Withdraw, and Enter code as well when a code was mailed to the organization. A row that has been answered shows its outcome and nothing to press. See Setting up your organization.
