Send to many
Reach a whole audience at once from your organization: free announcements to everyone who tracks you, or targeted broadcasts to a group you build.
Send to many is how your organization reaches a group in one go, instead of writing the same message twenty times. Open Messages from your left rail and select Send to many.
There are two ways to send, and they land in different places.
Announcement or broadcast
Pick one at the top of the page:
- Announcement appears in the feed of everyone who tracks your organization. It is free on every plan, and the audience is everyone who gets updates from you. You cannot target it or list it.
- Broadcast arrives as a private message in each artist's inbox, from a group you pick yourself. Broadcasts are part of Artsume Intelligence.
The sentence beside the switch always tells you where the message will land, so you can see the difference before you write anything.
Write an announcement
Write your body, up to 2,000 characters. You can attach up to five links, typed without the protocol: example.com, then Enter.
An announcement is a post. You can delete it afterwards, but people may already have read it.
Write a broadcast
A broadcast has a body of up to 5,000 characters and two extras:
- Attach a program. Pick one of your open programs and an apply card rides along with the message.
- Allow replies. On by default. Turn it off when you do not want the thread to come back to you.
Build the audience
The Audience card is where a broadcast differs most from an announcement. You add sources, and the card shows a running count of the people they reach, with the overlap between them already removed. Each source is named and can be removed on its own, so you can always tell who is in.
Select Add recipients to open six ways in:
- Saved lists: the lists you built in Your artists
- Applicants: everyone who applied to a program you choose
- Everyone you know: all my artists, or a filter on how they were added
- Search for a person: add individuals one at a time
- Build a filter: describe who belongs and let the rule find them
- Paste or import: bring in addresses from outside
The 1,000-recipient cap
One broadcast reaches at most 1,000 people. Go over and the composer tells you before you send, rather than half-delivering in silence. To reach more, split the audience and send twice.
Review, then send
Composing and committing are two separate moments, and there is no way to skip one. The review screen shows the message exactly as the recipient will see it, with your organization's mark, plus the final count.
The send button names the outcome: Post to N people for an announcement, Send to N artists for a broadcast. A broadcast starts immediately and cannot be undone.
Recent sends
Under the composer, Recent sends lists what you have sent, newest first. A broadcast shows a progress track while it is going out, then how many were delivered and how many were opened. You can delete an announcement from here.
Who can send
Send to many is open to Staff and above. Sending a broadcast also needs Artsume Intelligence; on the free Artsume Network plan the broadcast side shows what it would do and offers the upgrade. Announcements stay free. See Organization plans.
