"bildingship" is a working fellowship for young artists aged up to 31 years, to use bilding as space for their own artistic work as well as actively engaging in the regular workshop programme for 4 months (prolongation to 9 months is possible), including part-time employment (500€ per month). The aim is to convey the concept and working methods of bilding to the artists, while at the same time, imparting artistic processes directly to the children and adolescents based on the artists on-site work, to establish mutual ties and to promote and expand international discourse in the field of art and cultural mediation with young people, based on the practical experiences gained at bilding.
"bildingship" is intended to expand the artistic spectrum offered in the continuous programme as well as enabling a new artistic approach to special fields of art that are hard to fill on site. For bilding, young artists represent an important and complementary link to the children and young adults. For many young creatives, they facilitate a natural close relationship, which dismantles potential barriers in the professional exchange and provides a basis for an ideal working atmosphere. During the "bildingship", the artist is given the opportunity to present his/her own work in an exhibition on site. This allows an expansion of the artists own range of activity, as well as offering the young bilding creatives an opportunity for gaining first-hand exhibition experience.
"bildingship" is intended to get the artist acquainted with the regional artistic and cultural scene while facilitating contacts to local artists. The aim is the use of bilding as a studio on the one hand, and an opportunity for artistic exchange with young people and local artists on the other.
Duration of residency: "bildingship" is projected for the span from around September 14th 2026 – February 7th 2027 with the opportunity to prolong until the end of June 2027 if both parties agree upon it.
Accommodation: shared apartment, private room.

Fees and support: part-time employment with an income of 500€ per month at approximately 10 hours per week; work includes participation in regular workshops, stand-in for workshops, social-media, PR.
Expectations towards the artist: Artists should have language skills in German and/or English. The artists should be interested in working artistically with children and young adults since he/she will be working in our workshop programs. During the "bildingship", the artist is given the opportunity to present his/her own work in an exhibition on site. Artists are expected to work on-site in the studio, so that the children can observe artistic work in progress.
