Application Tracker

Every application.
Every outcome. Remembered.

Most artists manage their pipeline in their heads — or lose track entirely. A grant submitted three weeks ago. A residency awaiting a response. A proposal that went quiet.

The tracker gives you one place for all of it. Log a deadline, track the status, record the outcome. Get accepted? One tap adds it to your CV automatically.

Why artists need an application tracker

Why artists need an application tracker

Most artists manage their applications across email threads, spreadsheets, and memory. That works until it doesn't: a deadline missed, an outcome forgotten, a CV not updated. A dedicated tracker gives you visibility across all your applications.

How to track grant applications

For each grant application, record the opportunity name, organization, deadline, amount requested, and outcome. Track your CV submission alongside it, since the version you submitted may differ from your current one. Artsume connects the application directly to your live CV.

What to record for each application

At minimum: opportunity name, organization, deadline, type (grant, residency, exhibition, open call), and outcome. Useful additions: the amount requested, which CV version you submitted, and notes on the jurors or selection criteria.

How to improve your grant acceptance rate

Acceptance rate improves when you understand patterns: which opportunity types you win, which organizations respond to your practice, and how your application materials evolve. The data is only useful if you actually look at it.

Tracking residencies, exhibitions, and open calls

Grants aren't the only thing worth tracking. Residencies have deadlines and multi-step processes. Exhibition open calls require specific materials. Each opportunity type has different lead times and submission requirements, and a tracker makes those differences obvious.

Ruth Burotte-Tamfee at Run Them Hands

“Having it right there in the wallet to scan is a big deal for artists meeting people at events. It's better than Instagram because they don't have to scroll through everything you've ever done — they see your professional résumé immediately.”
