Artsume lists 567 open programs from 1,528 published arts organizations. Exhibition programs are the largest group. United States holds the most listings. Each number is counted when this page loads, from the same public listings you can browse on Explore.
What kinds of programs are open?
Exhibition is the largest category, with 196 of the 567 open programs. Every program carries one type, so the categories add up to the total.
6 smaller categories hold the rest. Artsume sorts programs into 14 types in all, from grants and residencies to public art and jobs.
Where in the world are they?
557 of the 567 open programs name a country. A program is placed by its own address, or by the address of the organization running it.
27 further countries hold at least one open program. 10 open programs do not name a country.
How we count
A program counts as open when an organization has published it, set it public, and its application window has not closed. That is the same set Explore shows with no filters applied, so you can check any number here against the listings themselves.
An organization counts when its profile is published and public. Organizations that have not published a profile are not counted, and neither are their programs. You can see the published set on the organization pages.
A program is placed in a country by its own location. When it has none, it takes the address of the organization running it. Programs with neither are counted in the total and left out of the country list.
The counts run when the page loads, so they describe the board at that moment rather than an average over a period. This view was counted on 10 September 2026.
These figures describe what is listed on Artsume. They are not a census of the art world, and the open board is small enough that one large organization publishing a season of calls moves the shape of it. Artsume does not publish acceptance rates, award amounts, entry-fee spreads, or time to decision, because it does not hold enough decided applications to report any of them honestly.
Questions about these numbers
Do these numbers cover the whole art world?
No. They count what arts organizations have published on Artsume. Plenty of programs never reach a listing platform at all. Read the figures as a view of one board, not as a census.
How often do the numbers change?
They are counted each time this page loads. The program count moves daily, because programs leave it when a deadline passes and join it when an organization opens a new call.
Why is there nothing here about acceptance rates or award amounts?
Artsume does not yet hold enough decided applications to report either one honestly. A rate built on a small sample still reads as a fact, and a wrong public number is hard to take back. Those figures stay off this page until the sample supports them.
