What is a confirmed credit on Artsume?
Confirmed credits are CV lines that the named organization has checked. Each confirmed grant, residency, or exhibition carries its own seal. The seal says what was confirmed, not that the whole profile or practice was approved.
Do organizations have to confirm my credits?
No. Confirmation is voluntary. The organization sees your request in its dashboard and can respond when it is ready. Credits awaiting confirmation still appear on your CV without a confirmation badge.
What happens if an organization disputes my credit?
If an org marks a credit as disputed, it doesn't appear on your public CV. Artsume notifies you, and you can update the credit or remove it.
Is credit confirmation free?
Yes. Verification costs nothing for the artist requesting it or the organization confirming it.
Can I list credits from organizations that don't use Artsume?
Yes. List any CV credit. Only credits from organizations on Artsume can be verified, but the rest still appear on your CV. As more organizations join, more of your CV becomes verifiable.
How verification works
What a confirmation tells the reader
A confirmed credit connects a career entry to the organization involved. A curator can see which credits have been checked at the source. Confirmation does not assess artistic quality or verify the rest of the profile.
How an organization responds
The organization reviews the credit in its Artsume dashboard. Its representative decides whether the information is accurate before confirming it. An unanswered request is not a confirmation.
