OPEN CALL for artists based in Berlin to exhibit in a group exhibition in July
About This Opportunity
“Outside/In”
LiTE-HAUS seeks artists based in Berlin to exhibit artworks in a group exhibition in July during the 48 Hour Neukölln Festival. Only artists who have not been selected for the festival can apply.
The festival theme is Outside/In and we will transform two LiTE-HAUS rooms into outdoor scenes.
Raum 2 is an urban scene with graffiti, tape art, abstract art, and unique furniture or sculpture that enhances a street scene. We're looking for completed artworks that help us mimic a typical Neukölln street - without the trash. The room will be a chill environment where we'll also encourage visitors to create their own "street art" on paper to be added to the exhibition.
Raum 3 is a picnic scene. We're looking for artworks or photography depicting landscapes or nature scenes, including insects or animals, or art that is made with natural materials. Artists are also welcome to submit their concepts for an installation on our rear terrace in the residential courtyard.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 8 11PM (08.05 23:00 Uhr)
EXHIBITION: JULY 2 - 5, 2026 (02.07 -05.07.2026) during the festival weekend.
VERNISSAGE: THURSDAY JULY 2nd 6PM-9PM (DONNERSTAG 02.07 18:00-21:00) Every year we open the exhibition a day or more earlier than the festival.
NOTIFICATION: ARTISTS will be notified by MAY 13 (13.05). We will only notify accepted artists.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: MAY 22 (22.05) Chosen artists must register their selected artworks with additional details such as titles and prices. We will create your contract with the information you provide.
INSTALLATION: JUNE 30 + JULY 1 (Tuesday + Wednesday) (30.06 -01.07) Not before, or after these dates. We do not have space to store packing materials, so be prepared to take them with you after you deliver your art.
DISMANTLE + ART PICKUP: MONDAY JULY 6 (06.07 MONTAG) This is the only date for pickup.
SIZE: There is no size limit for this application. But artworks or photos must be easy to hang or display. We are not responsible for any damage to unframed photos or works on paper. We urge you to frame your work. Paintings on stretched canvas or wood do not need frames.
LiTE-HAUS is a non-profit organization (Ad Finem gGmbH). This is not a funded exhibition. Artists help co-fund the show with a donation based on the number and size of artworks. LiTE-HAUS will not take any commission for sold artworks. Donation amounts are flexible depending on the size of the art and the number of pieces. Donations for very small or very big artworks will be determined if selected because it depends on how many pieces are confirmed.
