Opportunity Builder Redesign: Faster Saves, Cleaner Navigation, Smarter Benefits
We've completely redesigned the opportunity builder with sidebar navigation, a chip-driven benefits system, and auto-save that works in seconds — not minutes.
- Sidebar navigation with section groups and completion indicators
- Chip-driven benefits system — context-aware per opportunity type
- Partners and Sponsors section for linking organizations
- Previous/Next footer navigation between sections
Opportunity Builder Redesign
We've completely redesigned how organizations create and manage opportunities on Artsume. This update addresses feedback from organizations like Nia Centre for the Arts and makes the entire builder faster, cleaner, and easier to use.
Sidebar Navigation
The old horizontal tab bar with 13 tabs has been replaced with a sidebar navigation that's always visible. Sections are organized into clear groups:
- Setup — Overview, Media, Location, Timeline
- What's Offered — Benefits, Eligibility, Contact
- Process — Selection, Legal, Application Form, Reviews, Fees
- Publish — Final review and publishing
Each section shows a completion indicator so you can see at a glance what's been filled out and what still needs attention. On mobile, tap the section name in the header to switch between sections.
Benefits & Compensation: Chip System
The Benefits & Compensation section used to show up to 13 separate cards with overlapping information — housing details appeared in two places, studio information in two places, and compensation fields were scattered across multiple cards.
Now there's a single chip selector. Click "Studio" and studio fields appear. Click "Meals" and meal details appear. Unclick and they collapse. Different opportunity types show different chips:
- Residencies see Meals, Mentorship, Family Accommodation, Studio, Housing
- Exhibitions see Sales/Commission, Install Support, Documentation
- Jobs see Salary, Benefits
- Grants see Funding Amount
- Festivals see Booth Space, Revenue Share
Zero overlap, zero confusion.
Auto-Save That Actually Saves
Changes now save within 3 seconds of you stopping typing. Previously, the system waited 60 seconds before saving — meaning you could close the tab and lose a minute of work.
The save indicator in the header always shows the current state:
- Saving... — your changes are being saved
- All changes saved — everything is persisted
- Unsaved changes — click to save immediately
Switching between sections automatically saves your work before navigating.
Previous & Next Navigation
A footer bar at the bottom of every section lets you step through the builder sequentially. The buttons show the name of the next section so you always know where you're headed.
Partners & Sponsors
A new section to link partner organizations and sponsors to your opportunity listings.
What Didn't Change
- For artists: Opportunity listings look exactly the same. Applications work the same way. Nothing changes on the artist side.
- Your existing data: All opportunities, applications, reviews, and settings are preserved exactly as they were.
